Dear ones,
Last week, I read some words of wisdom that I would like to share with you. Perhaps these words will help you continue on your path to self-awareness. Because in order to become aware of who you really are, it is important to look deep into your own eyes. This is also known as shadow work. Looking at your own dark sides. Sides that you didn't even know existed because of unconscious programming.
I read these words by Laura Matsue Guenther:
It is easy to talk about shadow work, but very few people are actually willing to engage in it. It takes a certain type of person who is willing to burst the bubble of their idealised persona, acknowledge the ugliest parts of themselves and love those parts, instead of suppressing them and projecting them onto others. Shadow work is the path of a warrior who is brave enough to descent into the darkness to recover who they truly are.
My (yoga) training sessions focus precisely on this. On recognising, acknowledgint and feeling the shadow sides that are a natural part of us, because where there is light, there is also shadow. There is nothing wrong with that. By acknowledging and learning to embrace those sides, they can resolve themselves. Then you can move on with your life. More powerful and with greater self-confidence.
See you tomorrow or another time.
Love, Liesbeth
